Our brain operates in 4 frequencies – beta, alpha, theta and delta, Each brain wave frequency represents a different activity. Most people operate in beta, which is just day to day noise and chatter.
When you meditate or relax, you enter alpha state, which is very powerful and important state to function at to be productive, introspective and healthy.
Theta level is the level of mind where you can heal yourself from within. A typical person only enters theta at night, in deep REM sleep, but you can train your mind to go to this state while awake. This is will help you function and heal.
Beta is the fastest brainwave frequency which is 14 to 30 cycles per second. Alpha is slower than beta at 8 to 13 cycles per second. Theta is even slower brainwave frequency than alpha at 4 to 7 cycles per second.
Theta is considered the deepest level of mind, where you can access your subconscious power and use it to your full ability.
At theta, you are not sleeping because you are still aware of yourself, or your ego. When you practice going to your theta level often, you are becoming more self-aware and reflective. This helps create a state of inner peace and happiness.
