Another example is being broke, or deeply in debt – a common situation that often results in serious health problems if the stress of it is not relieved. These thought patterns are typical in this situation: You may have a victim attitude, you may resist taking full responsibility for your situation by blaming the lousy economy, your boss for firing you, corrupt and greedy bankers for not giving you a break, etc… You may believe that things will go from bad to worse no matter what you do. You may see yourself as a failure. Unfortunately, this kind of thinking creates and multiples the stress. Stress causes grave physical, mental and emotional problems.

Think back to the people you know who “light up the room.” Are their lives necessarily less problem-free than anyone else’s? Maybe – or they are just very good at managing stress and seeing the world from a positive, optimistic point of view.

Your mental/emotional state affects your health, and vice-versa; the quicker you can turn things around in your head, the better off you’ll be. Stress paralyzes you, ruins your health, makes a mess of your relationships and makes a positive outcome almost impossible because what you think about, comes about. You only attract more misery and life spirals downward. Negative thinking leads to actions that ultimately make the situation worse.

As with everything in life, you have choices. Here, again, the power of the mind will sway the pendulum in a more positive direction. You may be thinking, how in the world are you going to change a disastrous financial situation – or any negative situation – with positive thinking?

How Positive Thinking Changes Everything

De-stress and be happy!First, de-stress and be happy! Be grateful for what you have. There are plenty of happy, healthy, broke people and just as many depressed, sickly and miserable millionaires. You have a choice to be happy (or not) with what you have – with what is; and happiness comes with gratitude. Let of of the stress by entering the Alpha brainwave state – a calming, relaxing state of heightened awareness. Just a few minutes a day has lasting, positive effects that leave you better able to deal with practially any situation that life throws at you. Taking mental action while in the Alpha brainwave state is central to the Silva Method’s program: at this level, you can make incredibly effective changes in the way you think, the way you perceive the world, and the way you react to situations. These changes will positively impact your actions, and your results.

Second, use your imagination. Enter the Alpha brainwave state, and reprogram the mental imagery that sees only doom and gloom. When you create a positive mental image of yourself as healthy, financially free, and happy – and your reinforce that image with mental reprogramming, your situation will turn around. Imagination is far more powerful than willpower. Third, reprogram your thought patterns. The Silva Method teaches you how to deliberately choose positive thoughts and emotions. Positive thinking empowers you to take responsibility and take control. By creating that image of you in your desired state of being (a physically, emotionally and mentally healthy and happy state of being), you begin to ‘be’ that image – think like that person; behave like that person; believe like that person. You learn to lock in that experience using the Silva Method’s Three Fingers technique, and when you come to feel that the image ‘is’ you, things start turning around very quickly and almost miraculously.
